Vintage Escada Couture Ivory Jacquard Jacket, 1990s

A jacket from Escada Couture — the standalone luxury tier the house introduced in 1995 for its most elevated fabrication and construction. Cut close through the body with a distinctive keyhole neckline and curved welt pockets finished with contrasting tab details, the design represents a deliberate shift from the bold shoulder vocabulary of Escada's 1980s output toward a cleaner, more architectural silhouette.

The ivory jacquard shell is constructed from a blend of two fabrics — one a silk, the other a polyester-acetate — giving the surface a fine woven texture that catches light without announcing itself. The interior is lined in rayon. Escada Couture pieces of this period were manufactured in Germany to a standard above the mainline — reserved for the house's most discerning clientele and for construction that prioritized precision over drama.
