Vintage Christian Dior Marquise Crystal Pearl Drop Earrings, 1980s-1990s

Clip-on earrings in gold-tone metal, the upper element constructed as a full flower of individually set marquise-cut crystals radiating from a single round central stone, from which a pearl drop is suspended on a small gold connector. Signed Chr. Dior © on the clip, the piece dates to the house's costume jewelry production of the 1980s through the 1990s — a period defined at Dior by the creative direction of Marc Bohan and subsequently Gianfranco Ferré, under whom the house's accessories followed a consistently maximalist, ladylike design direction.

The construction is dense and precisely executed, each marquise stone individually set into its own petal — a level of finish consistent with Dior's accessories of the era.
